Getting plasterboard onto your Glasgow site

Boards are heavy and fragile at the edges; they travel flat and are best stored flat and dry. Glasgow is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

Tapered or square edge?

Tapered edge boards are for taping and jointing without a skim; square edge boards are normally skimmed.

Which board type?

Use moisture-resistant board in wet rooms, fire board where a fire rating is required, and acoustic board for quieter rooms. Building regulations or your design set the requirement.

In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.

Quantities: a worked example

Can plasterboard be stored outside?

No. Keep boards flat, off the ground and dry, ideally inside the building.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Glasgow?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Can I add other materials to my Glasgow delivery?
