How delivery works
Every order is priced as a delivered quote to your postcode. We deliver across England, Wales and mainland Scotland on flatbed lorries, usually with a crane for pallets and bulk bags, and quote Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands individually.

Where we deliver
We deliver across England, Wales and mainland Scotland. Deliveries to Northern Ireland, the Scottish Highlands and islands, the Isle of Wight and the Isles of Scilly involve longer journeys or crossings, so we quote them individually. See the areas we deliver to.
How delivery is priced
Delivery is built into the price we quote for your order, based on the postcode, the weight and size of the load and the vehicle needed. You see the delivered price before you commit.
Vehicles and offloading
- Crane offload: most pallets and bulk bags arrive on a flatbed lorry with a lorry-mounted crane, which usually lifts them to an agreed spot within its reach where the vehicle and access allow. We confirm the offload method on your quote.
- Kerbside: lighter items such as boxed fixings, rolls and bags can be handed off at the kerb.
- Long lengths: timber, lintels, pipe and metal sections need room to unload along the vehicle.
- Tight access: if a large lorry cannot get close, tell us; a smaller vehicle or a different drop point may work.
What we need to know
- The exact drop point, and how far it is from where a lorry can park.
- Overhead cables, trees, scaffolding or anything above the lift.
- The ground the materials will sit on: block paving, lawns and soft ground may not take the weight of a full bulk bag or pallet.
- Width, height or weight limits on the route, including private roads and bridges.
- Whether someone will be on site, or a safe place to leave the delivery.
On the day
Keep people, cars and pets clear of the lift area. Check the delivery against the delivery note before the driver leaves where you can, and tell us about any shortage or damage as soon as possible.
Timing
We confirm the delivery date when we price your order. It depends on the products, the quantities and whether items are stock lines or made to order. For phased builds we can split an order so materials arrive as each stage starts.
Storage after delivery
- Keep cement, plaster and plasterboard dry and off the ground.
- Store timber flat on bearers and cover it, leaving air to circulate.
- Cover bulk bags of sand to keep them clean and at a workable moisture content.
