Which sealant where?

Use sanitary silicone in wet areas, low-modulus sealant around frames that move, and paintable caulk on trims to be decorated.

Ventilation

Some adhesives and foams give off fumes while curing; use them in a ventilated space.

Before your Glasgow delivery arrives

• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.

How much will you need?

Sealing round 6 windows of about 1.2 × 1.2 m is roughly 28.8 m of joint. A 310 ml cartridge runs about 3 m of a 10 × 10 mm bead, so allow 10 cartridges of frame sealant.
