Before you order planed timber

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Delivering planed timber in Brecon

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Brecon is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around LD3 are priced to the exact address.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

Quantities: a worked example

A 3 × 3.2 m room with one door has about 11.6 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 12.8 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Your questions answered

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Brecon?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Brecon?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
