Planning the drop in West Sussex

CLS travels in bundles alongside plasterboard and is easy to hand off at the kerb. Our standard mainland delivery area covers West Sussex.

  • On busy streets in West Sussex, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
  • Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.

Things to check before you order

Stud spacing

Studs are usually set at 400 mm or 600 mm centres to suit 1200 mm wide plasterboard.

Loadbearing walls

If the wall carries load it needs graded timber to a design. Plain CLS is not automatically structural.

Questions about CLS timber delivery in West Sussex

How many studs do I need?

Divide the wall length by the stud spacing (400 or 600 mm), add one, then add plates and noggins. Our plasterboard calculator gives the boards for the same wall.

Do you deliver CLS timber to trades and homeowners in West Sussex?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

What is the difference between CLS and planed timber?

CLS has rounded edges and is sized for studwork; planed all round timber has square edges and comes in many more sizes for joinery and trim.

Can you deliver CLS timber to a site with restricted access in West Sussex?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
