• On busy streets in York, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.

Choosing tools and site safety gear

Gloves for the task

Different gloves suit different risks: cut resistance, chemical protection to EN ISO 374 for cement, or grip.

Cement burns

Wet cement can burn skin. Wear waterproof, chemical-resistant gloves (EN ISO 374) and long sleeves, and wash it off quickly.

Estimating your tools and site safety gear

Kitting out a crew of 4 means 4 sets each of eye protection, gloves suited to the task, a hard hat and hi-vis, plus respiratory protection for anyone cutting masonry.
