What plasterboard can we deliver to Sale?

How much will you need?

A new 4.8 m partition 2.7 m high, boarded on both sides, is 25.92 m² of board: 10 sheets of 2400 × 1200 mm with 10% for cutting, and about 350 drywall screws. Try the plasterboard calculator

Things to check before you order

Which board type?

Use moisture-resistant board in wet rooms, fire board where a fire rating is required, and acoustic board for quieter rooms. Building regulations or your design set the requirement.

Which thickness?

12.5 mm is the everyday choice for walls and ceilings on 400 or 600 mm centres; 9.5 mm suits ceilings at 400 mm centres. Fire and acoustic designs may call for 15 mm or two layers.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Planning the drop in Sale

Boards are heavy and fragile at the edges; they travel flat and are best stored flat and dry. Sale is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.

How soon can plasterboard be delivered in Sale?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

What is thermal laminate board?

Plasterboard bonded to a layer of insulation, used to dry-line external walls and improve their insulation in one fixing.

How many screws per board?

Around 30 to 40 drywall screws for a 2400 × 1200 board on a wall, with screws at about 300 mm centres.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Sale?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
