How delivery works in Sale

Bulk bags are usually crane-lifted onto a drive or kerb where the vehicle and access allow; small bags travel with a mixed load. Sale is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

How much will you need?

A 40 m² floor screed at 65 mm is 2.6 m³: about 4.16 tonnes of sharp sand at a 1:4 mix, or 5 bulk bags at around 850 kg each, plus the cement. Try the sand calculator

Cover bags to stop sand drying out or getting saturated, and keep it clean of debris.

Colour of mortar

Building sand colour changes the mortar colour. For matching existing joints, a sample is worth it.

How much sand per 1,000 bricks?

Roughly 1 tonne of soft building sand at a 1:4 mortar mix.

How soon can sand be delivered in Sale?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Do you deliver sand to Sale?

Yes. We deliver across Sale, including M33, M32, WA15, M41. Sale is inside our standard mainland delivery area. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.

How much does a bulk bag of sand weigh?

Around 850 kg is typical, but bag weights vary between suppliers. We confirm the weight with your price.
