Before your Merseyside delivery arrives

Boards are light but bulky; they travel in wrapped packs and should be stored flat and dry. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Merseyside.

• On busy streets in Merseyside, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.

Getting the right PIR insulation boards

Fire considerations

PIR is a combustible product. Building regulations restrict combustible materials in some situations, such as external walls of taller buildings; check what applies.

Thickness for the U-value

The thickness you need depends on the U-value the building regulations require and the rest of the build-up. Manufacturers publish U-value tables; your designer or building control will confirm.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Ordering PIR insulation boards for Merseyside: FAQs

What is the foil for?

The foil facing reflects heat, protects the foam and, when joints are taped, can act as a vapour control layer.

Do you deliver PIR insulation boards to Merseyside?

Yes. We deliver across Merseyside, including L, CH, WA, PR. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Merseyside. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.

Can I add other materials to my Merseyside delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from PIR insulation boards to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Is PIR better than mineral wool?

PIR insulates more per millimetre, so it suits tight spaces. Mineral wool is non-combustible, cheaper per square metre and better for sound.
