Concrete & Aircrete Blocks for London, delivered to site

Concrete blocks are large masonry units, normally 440 × 215 mm on face, that lay at about 10 blocks per square metre; they come as dense aggregate, lightweight aggregate or aircrete (aerated) blocks.

We deliver concrete blocks to sites, driveways and yards across London, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Getting concrete blocks onto your London site

Blocks are banded on pallets and usually crane-offloaded where the vehicle and access allow; tell us the weight limit of any drive or the ground where pallets will sit. London is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
  • Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
  • Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around EC1 are priced to the exact address.

Picking the right product

Thickness

100 mm is the common inner-leaf thickness. Wider blocks (140, 190, 215 mm) are used for separating walls, single-skin garage walls and foundations.

Dense or aircrete?

Dense blocks are strong and good for sound separation but heavy; a 100 mm dense block can weigh around 20 kg. Aircrete blocks are much lighter and insulate better, which helps with energy targets, but need the right fixings.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Estimating your concrete blocks

A single-skin block wall in London 9 m long and 2.4 m high is 21.6 m². At 10 blocks per square metre plus 5% you need 227 blocks, with about 0.31 tonnes of building sand and 3 bags of cement for the mortar at 1:4. Try the block calculator

Concrete & Aircrete Blocks in London: questions

How heavy is a concrete block?

It depends on the type and thickness. A 100 mm dense block is roughly 18 to 20 kg, a lightweight block noticeably less, and an aircrete block much less again.

Can I use blocks in the foundations?

Yes, using blocks made for below ground, often trench blocks or dense blocks of the specified strength. Building control will check foundation design.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to London?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Can I add other materials to my London delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from concrete blocks to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
