Things to check before you order

Inside or outside?

Use galvanised, coated or stainless fixings outdoors and with treated timber, so they do not corrode.

Structural fixings

Joist hangers, straps and structural connections need the fixings the connector maker specifies.

Getting screws and nails onto your Thurso site

Boxed fixings travel with the rest of your order. Thurso is in an area where deliveries are priced individually because of the distance and access, so we quote each order separately.

• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.

A quick quantity check

Fixing 15 sheets of plasterboard at about 35 screws a sheet uses 525 drywall screws, or 1 box of 1,000.
