Working out quantities for your South Croydon job

A 3 × 4 m room with one door has about 13.2 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 14.5 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Before you order planed timber

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Getting planed timber onto your South Croydon site

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. South Croydon is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around CR0 are priced to the exact address.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.

Questions about planed timber delivery in South Croydon

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in South Croydon?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to South Croydon?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.
