Working out quantities for your Carshalton job

A 4.2 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Delivering planed timber in Carshalton

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Carshalton is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around SM5 are priced to the exact address.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.

Planed Timber & Mouldings: choosing well

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
