Planed Timber & Mouldings: choosing well

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Getting planed timber onto your Redditch site

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Redditch is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Redditch

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

How soon can planed timber be delivered in Redditch?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Redditch?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.
