Delivery to Droitwich: what helps

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Droitwich is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.

Choosing planed timber

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

A quick quantity check

A 4.2 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Droitwich

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Droitwich?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Droitwich?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.
