Getting the right planed timber

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

How much will you need?

A 3.4 × 4.6 m room with one door has about 15.2 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.7 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Delivery to Fulham: what helps

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Fulham is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.

Ordering planed timber for Fulham: FAQs

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Fulham?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Fulham?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.
