Getting planed timber onto your Dundee site

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Dundee is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Sizing your order

A 3.4 × 4.6 m room with one door has about 15.2 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.7 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Picking the right product

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Common questions from Dundee

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Dundee?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Dundee?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
