Decking 15 m² with 2440 × 1220 mm sheets takes 6 sheets including 10% for cutting. In P5 chipboard flooring (2400 × 600 mm) the same floor takes 12 boards.

How delivery works in Alness

Sheets come in packs on the lorry bed, crane-lifted or hand-offloaded. Alness is in an area where deliveries are priced individually because of the distance and access, so we quote each order separately.

• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around IV17 are priced to the exact address.

Getting the right OSB, MDF and chipboard

OSB or plywood?

OSB3 is usually cheaper and fine for most structural decking in humid conditions. Plywood is stiffer, takes fixings near edges better and performs better where it may get wet.

Cutting MDF safely

MDF dust is fine; cut with extraction and wear suitable respiratory protection.

Can OSB get wet?

OSB3 copes with humid conditions and short exposure during construction, but it should not be left in the rain for long or used where it stays wet.

What size are flooring boards?

Chipboard flooring is commonly 2400 × 600 mm with tongue-and-groove on all four edges.

Can you deliver OSB, MDF and chipboard to a site with restricted access in Alness?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
