Before your Mansfield delivery arrives

How deep?

Patios and paths commonly use around 100 mm of compacted sub-base, and domestic driveways around 150 mm or more. Soft ground or heavier vehicles need more; your designer or installer will confirm.

Compaction

Lay and compact in layers with a plate compactor. Allow extra material because it compacts down.

Quantities: a worked example

A 4 × 4 m area at 100 mm compacted is 1.6 m³. At about 2.1 tonnes per cubic metre plus 10% that is 3.7 tonnes, or around 5 bulk bags. Try the sub-base calculator

Can you tip it loose?

For larger quantities we can price a loose tipped load if the lorry can reach and there is space to tip.

Can I add other materials to my Mansfield delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from MOT Type 1 to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Does Type 1 drain?

Type 1 is reasonably free-draining when compacted, which is one reason it is used under drives and patios.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Mansfield?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
