Delivery to Inverness: what helps
Bulk bags are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; very large quantities can be priced as loose tipped loads where access allows. Inverness is in an area where deliveries are priced individually because of the distance and access, so we quote each order separately.
- Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
- Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
- Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
Estimating your MOT Type 1

Things to check before you order
How deep?
Patios and paths commonly use around 100 mm of compacted sub-base, and domestic driveways around 150 mm or more. Soft ground or heavier vehicles need more; your designer or installer will confirm.
Compaction
Lay and compact in layers with a plate compactor. Allow extra material because it compacts down.
MOT Type 1 Sub-base in Inverness: questions
Can you tip it loose?
For larger quantities we can price a loose tipped load if the lorry can reach and there is space to tip.
How soon can MOT Type 1 be delivered in Inverness?
We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
How much MOT Type 1 do I need?
Multiply the area by the compacted depth to get cubic metres, then allow about 2.1 to 2.2 tonnes per cubic metre. At 100 mm deep, a tonne covers roughly 4.5 square metres.
