Before your Dunoon delivery arrives

CLS travels in bundles alongside plasterboard and is easy to hand off at the kerb. Dunoon is in an area where deliveries are priced individually because of the distance and access, so we quote each order separately.

  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
  • Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
  • If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Things to check before you order

Stud spacing

Studs are usually set at 400 mm or 600 mm centres to suit 1200 mm wide plasterboard.

Loadbearing walls

If the wall carries load it needs graded timber to a design. Plain CLS is not automatically structural.

Estimating your CLS timber

A 5.4 m partition 2.4 m high at 400 mm centres takes 15 CLS studs, 10.8 m of head and sole plate and a row of noggins, then boarding on both sides. Work out the boards too

Ordering CLS timber for Dunoon: FAQs

How many studs do I need?

Divide the wall length by the stud spacing (400 or 600 mm), add one, then add plates and noggins. Our plasterboard calculator gives the boards for the same wall.

Can you deliver CLS timber to a site with restricted access in Dunoon?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Dunoon?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

What does CLS stand for?

Canadian Lumber Standard. It refers to the way the timber is dried, planed and finished with rounded edges.
