Before your Annan delivery arrives

Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Annan is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
  • Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
  • Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.

Estimating your bricks

Take a garden wall in Annan 12 m long and 0.9 m high: 10.8 m². At 60 bricks per square metre plus 5% for cuts that is 681 bricks, roughly 2 packs of 500 depending on the maker, laid in about 0.64 tonnes of building sand and 6 bags of cement at a 1:4 mix. Try the brick calculator

Bricks: choosing well

Matching an existing house

Bring us the brick name if you know it, or a clear photo of a cleaned face in daylight with a tape measure for scale. Size matters as much as colour: older imperial bricks are often slightly larger than 65 mm.

Is the wall exposed?

For walls that will get very wet and freeze, such as parapets, copings, below DPC or free-standing garden walls, use a clay brick declared F2 (freeze-thaw resistant) and S2 (low soluble salts).

In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.

Your questions answered

How are bricks delivered?

In strapped packs on a flatbed lorry, normally unloaded by the lorry's crane. Tell us where the packs can go and whether there are overhead cables, low branches or soft ground.

Can I add other materials to my Annan delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from bricks to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

How many bricks come in a pack?

It depends on the manufacturer and the brick. Packs of 400, 475 and 500 are common. We confirm the pack size with your price so you can order whole packs.

Can you deliver bricks to a site with restricted access in Annan?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
