Things to check before you order

Length

A rule of thumb is a fixing at least two and a half times the thickness of the piece you are fixing.

Structural fixings

Joist hangers, straps and structural connections need the fixings the connector maker specifies.

How much will you need?

Fixing 40 sheets of plasterboard at about 35 screws a sheet uses 1,400 drywall screws, or 2 boxes of 1,000.

Before your March delivery arrives

Boxed fixings travel with the rest of your order. March is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• In summer March gets around 16h 50m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
