Before you order roofing materials

Fixing requirements

BS 5534 sets out how tiles must be fixed against wind uplift, which in most cases means every tile is mechanically fixed. Ask for the fixing specification with your tiles.

Matching an existing roof

The profile, size and colour all matter. A photo of the tile and a measurement of its exposed face help us find the closest current product.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Before your Farnborough delivery arrives

Tiles and slates arrive palletised and are usually crane-offloaded where access allows; battens and membrane rolls travel with them. Farnborough is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• On busy streets in Farnborough, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• With roughly 7h 52m of daylight in Farnborough around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
• In summer Farnborough gets around 16h 36m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.

A quick quantity check

A 26 m² roof slope needs roughly 260 large-format interlocking tiles, or about 1,560 small plain tiles, before ridge, hip and verge pieces. The exact count comes from the tile's gauge, so send us the roof measurements and pitch and we will work it out with the battens and membrane.

Yes, felt, EPDM rubber and GRP fibreglass systems for smaller roofs. Tell us the roof size and what is underneath.

Can I add other materials to my Farnborough delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from roofing materials to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

How soon can roofing materials be delivered in Farnborough?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
