Delivery to Shropshire: what helps

Boards are heavy and fragile at the edges; they travel flat and are best stored flat and dry. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Shropshire.

  • Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
  • Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
  • On busy streets in Shropshire, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.

Getting the right plasterboard

Tapered or square edge?

Tapered edge boards are for taping and jointing without a skim; square edge boards are normally skimmed.

Which board type?

Use moisture-resistant board in wet rooms, fire board where a fire rating is required, and acoustic board for quieter rooms. Building regulations or your design set the requirement.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

How many plasterboards do I need?
