Delivering plasterboard in Blackpool
Boards are heavy and fragile at the edges; they travel flat and are best stored flat and dry. Blackpool is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- In summer Blackpool gets around 17h 06m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
- Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
- Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.

Getting the right plasterboard
Which board type?
Use moisture-resistant board in wet rooms, fire board where a fire rating is required, and acoustic board for quieter rooms. Building regulations or your design set the requirement.
Which thickness?
12.5 mm is the everyday choice for walls and ceilings on 400 or 600 mm centres; 9.5 mm suits ceilings at 400 mm centres. Fire and acoustic designs may call for 15 mm or two layers.
In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.
