A quick quantity check

A 3.8 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 15.4 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Planning the drop in Ystalyfera

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Ystalyfera is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Getting the right planed timber

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Common questions from Ystalyfera

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Ystalyfera?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Do you deliver planed timber to Ystalyfera?

Can you match an old skirting profile?

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.
