Delivering planed timber in Whitehaven

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Whitehaven is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• With roughly 7h 15m of daylight in Whitehaven around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.

Things to check before you order

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

How much will you need?

A 4.2 × 3.6 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Whitehaven

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Whitehaven?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can I add other materials to my Whitehaven delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from planed timber to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.
