How delivery works in Weymouth
Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Weymouth is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- On busy streets in Weymouth, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
- If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
- Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
Things to check before you order
Nominal versus finished size
Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.
Softwood or MDF trim?
MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.
How much will you need?
A 3 × 4 m room with one door has about 13.2 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 14.5 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.
Ordering planed timber for Weymouth: FAQs
Do you deliver planed timber to Weymouth?
Yes. We deliver across Weymouth, including DT3, DT4. Weymouth is inside our standard mainland delivery area. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.
Do you sell MDF skirting?
Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.
Why is my 2 × 4 smaller than 2 × 4 inches?
Timber is often named by its sawn size before planing. Once planed, it finishes smaller, so a nominal 2 × 4 is roughly 44 × 94 mm or less.
Can I add other materials to my Weymouth delivery?
Yes. Put everything on one list, from planed timber to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
