Before your Maldon delivery arrives

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Maldon is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

Working out quantities for your Maldon job

A 4.2 × 4 m room with one door has about 15.6 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 17.2 m, or 5 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Things to check before you order

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Planed Timber & Mouldings in Maldon: questions

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Maldon?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can I add other materials to my Maldon delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from planed timber to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
