Working out quantities for your Leicestershire job

A 4.2 × 3.2 m room with one door has about 14 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 15.4 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Getting planed timber onto your Leicestershire site

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Leicestershire.

• Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.

Before you order planed timber

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Leicestershire

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

Do you deliver planed timber to trades and homeowners in Leicestershire?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

Can I add other materials to my Leicestershire delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from planed timber to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
