Delivering planed timber in Huddersfield

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Huddersfield is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• On busy streets in Huddersfield, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• With roughly 7h 26m of daylight in Huddersfield around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.

Things to check before you order

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Planed Timber & Mouldings questions

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Huddersfield?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can you match an old skirting profile?

We can look for the closest current profile. Exact matches for old or bespoke profiles may need machining to order.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Huddersfield?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
