Working out quantities for your Hounslow job

A 3 × 4.6 m room with one door has about 14.4 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 15.8 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

How delivery works in Hounslow

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Hounslow is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around TW3 are priced to the exact address.
• In summer Hounslow gets around 16h 38m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.

Choosing planed timber

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.
