Planning the drop in Cirencester

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Cirencester is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Sizing your order

A 3.8 × 4 m room with one door has about 14.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 16.3 m, or 4 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Getting the right planed timber

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Matching old profiles

Bring an offcut or a clear profile photo with measurements and we will look for the closest current profile.

Ordering planed timber for Cirencester: FAQs

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Cirencester?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Do you sell MDF skirting?

Yes, primed MDF skirting and architrave in common profiles, alongside softwood.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.
