Delivery to Bury: what helps

Finished timber is protected and handled with care; tell us if it needs to go inside out of the weather. Bury is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around BL9 are priced to the exact address.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.

Working out quantities for your Bury job

A 4.2 × 4.6 m room with one door has about 16.8 m of wall to skirt. With 10% for joints and offcuts that is 18.5 m, or 5 lengths of 4.2 m skirting, plus architrave for each side of the door.

Picking the right product

Nominal versus finished size

Planing takes material off, so a timber sold as 'nominal' 2 × 4 finishes smaller. Always check finished sizes when you need an exact fit.

Softwood or MDF trim?

MDF skirting and architrave is very straight and paints well; softwood takes knocks better and can be stained.

Questions about planed timber delivery in Bury

How should I store planed timber?

Flat, off the ground and inside if possible, so it does not take on moisture and move before fitting.

What does PAR mean?

Planed all round: the timber has been machined smooth on all four faces.

How soon can planed timber be delivered in Bury?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

Can you deliver planed timber to a site with restricted access in Bury?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
