Planning the drop in Hythe

Boards are light but bulky; they travel in wrapped packs and should be stored flat and dry. Hythe is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
• Deliveries are to the kerb, drive or within crane reach; ask if materials need to go further.
• Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around SO45 are priced to the exact address.

Things to check before you order

Thickness for the U-value

The thickness you need depends on the U-value the building regulations require and the rest of the build-up. Manufacturers publish U-value tables; your designer or building control will confirm.

Fire considerations

PIR is a combustible product. Building regulations restrict combustible materials in some situations, such as external walls of taller buildings; check what applies.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Your questions answered

Can you deliver PIR insulation boards to a site with restricted access in Hythe?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

Can PIR be used in external walls?

In some situations, but building regulations restrict combustible insulation in external walls of certain buildings. Check the rules for your building.

How soon can PIR insulation boards be delivered in Hythe?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.

What is the foil for?

The foil facing reflects heat, protects the foam and, when joints are taped, can act as a vapour control layer.
