Steel & Concrete Lintels for Rhyl, delivered to site
A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.
SK Trade prices lintels delivered to Rhyl and the rest of Clwyd, so the cost and the delivery date are agreed before anything is loaded.

Delivery to Rhyl: what helps
Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Rhyl is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- With roughly 7h 30m of daylight in Rhyl around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
- Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
- Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
A quick quantity check
For a 2,400 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 2,700 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.
Things to check before you order
Steel or concrete?
Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.
Do I need a cavity tray?
Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.
Wales has its own Approved Documents, including its own Part L for energy efficiency, and building control is handled by the local authority or a registered approver.
Ordering lintels for Rhyl: FAQs
Can I add other materials to my Rhyl delivery?
Yes. Put everything on one list, from lintels to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.
Do you deliver lintels to trades and homeowners in Rhyl?
Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.
Are steel lintels insulated?
Cavity wall steel lintels usually have insulation inside to cut heat loss at the opening. Single-leaf and box lintels may not.
How long should a lintel be?
The clear opening plus the end bearing at each side, typically at least 150 mm per end. Check the manufacturer's table for your lintel.
