Steel & Concrete Lintels delivery in Haverfordwest

A lintel is a beam that carries the masonry over a door or window opening; most UK houses use galvanised steel cavity lintels or prestressed concrete lintels.

We deliver lintels to sites, driveways and yards across Haverfordwest, from a single pallet for a small job to full loads for bigger builds.

Picking the right product

Do I need a cavity tray?

Over openings in cavity walls, water in the cavity has to be directed outwards. Many steel lintels need a separate cavity tray and stop ends; check the lintel maker's detail.

Steel or concrete?

Steel cavity lintels support both leaves and include insulation to limit cold bridging. Concrete lintels are simple and robust for single leaves and internal walls.

Wales has its own Approved Documents, including its own Part L for energy efficiency, and building control is handled by the local authority or a registered approver.

Working out quantities for your Haverfordwest job

For a 1,050 mm clear opening, add at least 150 mm of bearing at each end: the lintel needs to be at least 1,350 mm long. Then pick the type for the wall build-up and check the load in the manufacturer's table, or ask your engineer if the opening carries a floor or roof.

Before your Haverfordwest delivery arrives

Lintels are long, so tell us about tight access. Shorter lintels can travel with a mixed load; long steel lintels are handled by hand or crane. Haverfordwest is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
  • If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
  • Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.

Your questions answered

Do you deliver lintels to trades and homeowners in Haverfordwest?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Haverfordwest?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.

Can you tell me which lintel to use?

We can suggest options from the manufacturers' load tables based on the opening, wall type and load you describe, but for anything structural the final choice should come from your designer or engineer, and be approved through building control.

Are steel lintels insulated?

Cavity wall steel lintels usually have insulation inside to cut heat loss at the opening. Single-leaf and box lintels may not.
