Damp Proofing & Membranes delivery in Oxford

Damp proofing materials stop moisture rising or passing through a building: a damp-proof course (DPC) in the walls and a damp-proof membrane (DPM) under the floor.

Whether it is a repair, an extension or a new build in Oxford, we can supply the damp proofing and deliver to site.

Damp Proofing & Membranes: choosing well

Laps and joints

DPM and DPC need generous laps and sealed joints; follow the manufacturer's guidance.

DPC width

Match the DPC width to the wall leaf so it runs the full width of the masonry.

In England, building work is checked against the Approved Documents, for example Part A for structure and Part L for energy efficiency, through your council's building control team or a registered building control approver.

Working out quantities for your Oxford job

An extension in Oxford with 12 m of cavity wall needs DPC in both leaves: about 1 roll in 30 m lengths once laps are allowed for. A 50 m² floor slab needs about 57.5 m² of DPM including laps, which is 1 roll of 4 × 25 m sheeting.

Planning the drop in Oxford

Rolls are light enough to travel with a mixed load and are handed off at the kerb. Oxford is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • Weight limits on bridges or private roads near the site matter for larger lorries, so mention any you know of.
  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
  • Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Your questions answered

Can I add other materials to my Oxford delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from damp proofing to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

How thick should a DPM be?

1200-gauge polythene, around 300 microns, is a common specification for floor slabs. Your design may call for something different.

Do I need a radon barrier?

It depends on where you are. In radon-affected areas building control requires radon protection in new buildings and extensions.

How soon can damp proofing be delivered in Oxford?

We confirm the delivery date when we price your order, before you commit. It depends on the product, the quantity and whether it is a stock line or made to order.
