How delivery works in Wimbledon
Bags come on a pallet or with a mixed load. Wimbledon is inside our standard mainland delivery area.
- Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
- Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
- If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
Things to check before you order
Bagged or site-mixed?
Bagged mixes cost more per cubic metre but save time, waste and space. For anything bigger than a small pad, site-mixed or ready-mixed concrete is usually better value.
Check the yield
Each bag states the volume it makes. Divide your volume by the yield to get the number of bags.
How much will you need?
Setting 15 fence posts in Wimbledon usually takes 15 to 30 bags of 20 kg post mix, depending on the hole size printed on the bag. For a base bigger than about half a cubic metre, all-in ballast and cement are usually better value. Compare with site-mixed concrete
Questions about bagged concrete and mortar delivery in Wimbledon
How much does one bag of concrete make?
The yield is on the bag. As a rough guide a 20 to 25 kg bag makes about 0.01 cubic metres of concrete.
Can you deliver bagged concrete and mortar to a site with restricted access in Wimbledon?
Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
Is bagged concrete strong enough for a shed base?
For a small base it can be. Follow the bag's guidance on depth and the shed maker's base requirements.
Is there a minimum order for delivery to Wimbledon?
There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
