Sizing your order

Setting 12 fence posts in Greater London usually takes 12 to 24 bags of 20 kg post mix, depending on the hole size printed on the bag. For a base bigger than about half a cubic metre, all-in ballast and cement are usually better value. Compare with site-mixed concrete

Delivering bagged concrete and mortar in Greater London

Bags come on a pallet or with a mixed load. Our standard mainland delivery area covers Greater London.

  • If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
  • Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
  • Give us the full postcode for the drop point; deliveries around E are priced to the exact address.

Picking the right product

Check the yield

Each bag states the volume it makes. Divide your volume by the yield to get the number of bags.

Bagged or site-mixed?

Bagged mixes cost more per cubic metre but save time, waste and space. For anything bigger than a small pad, site-mixed or ready-mixed concrete is usually better value.

Your questions answered

How much does one bag of concrete make?

The yield is on the bag. As a rough guide a 20 to 25 kg bag makes about 0.01 cubic metres of concrete.

When should I use ready-mixed concrete instead?

Once you need more than about half a cubic metre, mixing from bags gets slow and costly; ballast and cement or ready-mixed concrete usually make more sense.

Can I add other materials to my Greater London delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from bagged concrete and mortar to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Is there a minimum order for delivery to Greater London?

There is no fixed minimum. For very small orders we will tell you honestly if the delivery cost outweighs the materials, so you can decide.
