Choosing bagged concrete and mortar

Post mix quantities

Most makers say how many bags per post; it depends on the hole size.

Check the yield

Each bag states the volume it makes. Divide your volume by the yield to get the number of bags.

Before your Warrenpoint delivery arrives

Bags come on a pallet or with a mixed load. Deliveries to Northern Ireland include a sea crossing, so we quote each order individually.

• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.
• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.

Quantities: a worked example

Setting 20 fence posts in Warrenpoint usually takes 20 to 40 bags of 20 kg post mix, depending on the hole size printed on the bag. For a base bigger than about half a cubic metre, all-in ballast and cement are usually better value. Compare with site-mixed concrete

Yes. We deliver across Warrenpoint, including BT34. Deliveries to Northern Ireland include a sea crossing, so we quote each order individually. Send your list or call 0800 088 6341 and we will price it delivered to your postcode.

When should I use ready-mixed concrete instead?
