Things to check before you order

Stud spacing

Studs are usually set at 400 mm or 600 mm centres to suit 1200 mm wide plasterboard.

Loadbearing walls

If the wall carries load it needs graded timber to a design. Plain CLS is not automatically structural.

Delivery to Holyhead: what helps

CLS travels in bundles alongside plasterboard and is easy to hand off at the kerb. Holyhead is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.
• Have someone on site for the delivery if you can, or agree a safe drop point with us in advance.
• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.

Do you deliver CLS timber to trades and homeowners in Holyhead?

Both. Trades can apply for a trade account; homeowners and self-builders can order on a delivered quote.

What does CLS stand for?

Canadian Lumber Standard. It refers to the way the timber is dried, planed and finished with rounded edges.

Can CLS be used for loadbearing walls?

Only if it is strength graded and the wall is designed for the load. Ask for graded CLS if your design calls for it.
