Delivery to Coatbridge: what helps

Bricks come in strapped packs, usually on a pallet, and are lifted off by a lorry-mounted crane where the drop point allows. Coatbridge is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

  • In summer Coatbridge gets around 17h 35m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
  • Keep cement, plaster and boards dry: have a tarpaulin or a garage space ready before they arrive.
  • Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.

Picking the right product

Is the wall exposed?

For walls that will get very wet and freeze, such as parapets, copings, below DPC or free-standing garden walls, use a clay brick declared F2 (freeze-thaw resistant) and S2 (low soluble salts).

Engineering Class A or B?

Class A is the denser of the two and is usually chosen where strength or very low water absorption matters; Class B is the common choice below DPC and for manholes; a brick DPC course in a building needs Class A (DPC1). Your designer or the council's building standards service may specify one.

In Scotland most building work needs a building warrant from the local authority, assessed against the Building Standards Technical Handbooks.
