Adhesives, Sealants & Foam: choosing well

Ventilation

Some adhesives and foams give off fumes while curing; use them in a ventilated space.

Fire-stopping

Ordinary foam is not a fire stop. Where a fire seal is required use a tested fire-rated product and install it as tested.

Getting adhesives and sealants onto your Sandhurst site

Boxed with the rest of your order. Sandhurst is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the site is up a shared drive or behind other houses, tell us the distance from the road.
• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.

Working out quantities for your Sandhurst job

Sealing round 10 windows of about 1.2 × 1.2 m is roughly 48 m of joint. A 310 ml cartridge runs about 3 m of a 10 × 10 mm bead, so allow 16 cartridges of frame sealant.
