Getting the right adhesives and sealants

Which sealant where?

Use sanitary silicone in wet areas, low-modulus sealant around frames that move, and paintable caulk on trims to be decorated.

Fire-stopping

Ordinary foam is not a fire stop. Where a fire seal is required use a tested fire-rated product and install it as tested.

How delivery works in Romford

Boxed with the rest of your order. Romford is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• With roughly 7h 49m of daylight in Romford around the shortest day, morning deliveries leave more working light for the job.
• If neighbours share the access, it helps to let them know a lorry is coming.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

A quick quantity check

Sealing round 6 windows of about 1.2 × 1.2 m is roughly 28.8 m of joint. A 310 ml cartridge runs about 3 m of a 10 × 10 mm bead, so allow 10 cartridges of frame sealant.
