How delivery works in Ilford

Boxed with the rest of your order. Ilford is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• In summer Ilford gets around 16h 39m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Quantities: a worked example

Sealing round 8 windows of about 1.2 × 1.2 m is roughly 38.4 m of joint. A 310 ml cartridge runs about 3 m of a 10 × 10 mm bead, so allow 13 cartridges of frame sealant.

Choosing adhesives and sealants

Fire-stopping

Ordinary foam is not a fire stop. Where a fire seal is required use a tested fire-rated product and install it as tested.

Ventilation

Some adhesives and foams give off fumes while curing; use them in a ventilated space.

Adhesives, Sealants & Foam questions

What sealant for windows?

A low-modulus frame sealant that stays flexible as the frame moves.

Can I add other materials to my Ilford delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from adhesives and sealants to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Can you deliver adhesives and sealants to a site with restricted access in Ilford?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.

How long does silicone take to cure?

Usually skins in minutes and cures over a day or more, depending on thickness and temperature. Check the cartridge.
