Choosing adhesives and sealants

Which sealant where?

Use sanitary silicone in wet areas, low-modulus sealant around frames that move, and paintable caulk on trims to be decorated.

Fire-stopping

Ordinary foam is not a fire stop. Where a fire seal is required use a tested fire-rated product and install it as tested.

How much will you need?

Sealing round 3 windows of about 1.2 × 1.2 m is roughly 14.4 m of joint. A 310 ml cartridge runs about 3 m of a 10 × 10 mm bead, so allow 5 cartridges of frame sealant.

Delivering adhesives and sealants in Rochester

Boxed with the rest of your order. Rochester is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
• For a phased build we can split the order so materials arrive as each stage starts, which keeps the site clear.
• On busy streets in Rochester, a parking suspension or a quiet time slot can make offloading safer, so tell us about local restrictions you know of.
