Things to check before you order

Which sealant where?

Use sanitary silicone in wet areas, low-modulus sealant around frames that move, and paintable caulk on trims to be decorated.

Fire-stopping

Ordinary foam is not a fire stop. Where a fire seal is required use a tested fire-rated product and install it as tested.

Quantities: a worked example

Sealing round 6 windows of about 1.2 × 1.2 m is roughly 28.8 m of joint. A 310 ml cartridge runs about 3 m of a 10 × 10 mm bead, so allow 10 cartridges of frame sealant.

Delivering adhesives and sealants in Pudsey

Boxed with the rest of your order. Pudsey is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• In summer Pudsey gets around 17h 06m of daylight, but early deliveries still beat the traffic and give the longest working day.
• Pallets left on a pavement can block the footway, so plan a drop point inside your boundary where you can.
• Mention any overhead cables, low branches or narrow gateways, because they decide whether a crane offload is possible.

Questions about adhesives and sealants delivery in Pudsey

Is expanding foam fire rated?

Only fire-rated foams that have been tested are. Standard foam is not a fire stop.

Can I add other materials to my Pudsey delivery?

Yes. Put everything on one list, from adhesives and sealants to fixings and PPE, and we will price it as one delivery where the products can travel together.

Can I paint over silicone?

Generally no. Use a paintable decorators' caulk if the joint will be painted.

Can you deliver adhesives and sealants to a site with restricted access in Pudsey?

Usually, yes. Tell us about the access when you ask for a price and we will plan the vehicle and offload, or say if a smaller vehicle is needed.
