Adhesives, Sealants & Foam: choosing well

Ventilation

Some adhesives and foams give off fumes while curing; use them in a ventilated space.

Fire-stopping

Ordinary foam is not a fire stop. Where a fire seal is required use a tested fire-rated product and install it as tested.

Delivering adhesives and sealants in Birmingham

Boxed with the rest of your order. Birmingham is inside our standard mainland delivery area.

• If the drop point is block paving or soft ground, say so; heavy pallets and bulk bags can mark or sink.
• Tell us the best drop point, such as a driveway, front garden or the kerb, and whether a lorry can park close to it.
• Clear a level area for pallets, ideally on boards, so materials stay out of standing water.

Working out quantities for your Birmingham job

Sealing round 5 windows of about 1.2 × 1.2 m is roughly 24 m of joint. A 310 ml cartridge runs about 3 m of a 10 × 10 mm bead, so allow 8 cartridges of frame sealant.
